Like many of its competitors in the pool refinishing field, Aquatic Surfaces is a family-owned company. But unlike many, the Aquatic Surfaces team is a family with a long history in the business.
Founder and president
Dennis Hardy knows swimming pools from the bottom up -- because that’s where his career began.
After moving to Fort Lauderdale from upstate New York as a teenager, Dennis literally dove into the Florida lifestyle – working as what is commonly known as a “pool boy.” He received his pool service license at 21 and started his own pool service company in Fort Lauderdale, which he built into a thriving enterprise by giving his customers the best possible service at the best possible price.
After a decade of success in the pool maintenance field, he earned his license as a Florida state-certified swimming pool contractor, and began building pools throughout South Florida. As a pool builder, his clients included celebrities such as tennis star Chris Evert and motorcycle stuntman Evel Knievel, and the pools he designed and built ranged from basic rectangles to extravagant layouts featuring caves with refrigerators and center islands with palm trees.
Dennis is also the inventor of AquaGuard 5000, a highly refined epoxy-based pool refinishing system. (LINK)
